I'm allergic to the cold →
Always wondered why my hands went purple or orange or white and numb. My pottery teacher told me I must have this condition, well explains my constantly cold feet and hands.

A physicists take on reality →
This episode of Horizon is great, I love all this stuff even though my mind has no ability to grasp such mathematical ideas.

A buddhist's take on reality →
We have to communicate with reality: otherwise there is no reality. Of course reality is real, but our contact with reality is through our sense perceptions, our body, and our emotions—the three mandalas. The three mandalas are what meet, or mate, with reality.

'Sunday'
I often find poems I’ve written on my computer months afterwards, the memory of writing them in some long distant dream. Here is one I found today.

Happy New Year →
A few years ago, I saw Camera Obscura at a tiny venue in north London. I drank a few bottles of wine and embarrassed myself terribly. I can just about listen to this album again, which is lovely, because it really is smashing.

I'm wide awake
It’s morning. In my last post I inadvertently left the reader to infer that I don’t actually like “I’m wide awake ..” or Digital Ash, which isn’t true. I do like both the album’s; listening to them both a lot over the last few weeks in my Oberst renaissance. The actual merits of these albums however isn’t why I left them behind 5 years ago. I think...

The People's Key
I first heard Conor Oberst on his Bright Eyes album Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground . That was some 7 or 8 years ago, I was in my second year of university and I was at the same time insanely jealous and in love with him. I was jealous of his songwriting, his ability with words — as an aspiring poet at the time, I felt like it was competition a little to close for...

That literal rebirth thing →
Here is a post on Brad Warner’s site regarding rebirth which I found pretty interesting. I wont paraphrase but essentially the view held by Warner mirrors my own when it comes to (literal) rebirth; which naturally comes in line with what (i believe) Dogen taught.  There is no “literal you” to get “literally reborn.” This is the heart of the argument. As far as my...
